If you ship enough freight, sooner or later you will have freight that was damaged in shipping. Unfortunately people who are not accustomed to receiving freight on a regular basis don't always report the damage to the freight company and ask for a damage claim form BEFORE they sign for it. When you sighn for a shipment, you are signing something that says "received in good condition". Once you do that, the freight company will deny all claims.
ALWAYS thouroughly inspect all shipments before you sign or better yet write "POSSIBLE HIDDEN DAMAGE" on the form before you sign for any shipment. That way, you have a claim if you find damage.
