I just wanted to share with you a response from an emailed inquiry that we received from a potential customer who was looking for a new engine because he's been having problems getting his fixed. We are always as honest as we can be when dealing with people.
Thanks for contacting us. Although we would love to sell you an engine, I'm not convinced that you need one based on the information that you have given us.
As far as supplying you with an engine and having someone else install it, that's actually the best way to handle things because we sell a stripped down long block which consists of the block with the heads and valve train attached and all of the internal parts. No covers, pumps, sensors, injectors, wiring, turbo, etc. When a local shop installs all of those things on your engine, they would be responsible for any leaks or issues having to do with all of he parts that they installed. Very rarely is there ever a problem with the part that we supply which is the reason that I started by saying that I'm not sure you need an engine.
Personally, I think that it would be in your best interest to have someone who really knows what they are doing to check your truck out before you spend a bunch of money that you don't need to. I can refer you to some shops that we do business with who I believe know their stuff. The closest that I see is Big Daddy's Diesel in Milton. The owners name is Roy Bush (850) 736-5478. If you need an engine, Roy will tell you. If you don't, I think he'll get you fixed up.
If for some reason you can't deal with Roy, feel free to contact me and I'll give you a few others that are a little farther away. Please tell Roy that I told you to call.
