To make a VERY long story short, we purchased "Ford" Head Gaskets for a customer who ordered a long block with Ford head gaskets from us.
The HG were purchased from a Ford Dealership.
The HG came in a Ford parts box.
The HG had the typical "Ford Blue" adhesive on them so we installed them without thinking anything about them.
When the customer received his engine, he looked at the HG tab sticking out and it had a Victor Reinz part number on them which was X'd out.
All hell broke loose, the guy accused us of not delivering what he ordered. I produced a receipt showing that we had, in fact, purchased Ford HG for his engine.
He posted on a forum that we basically ripped him off. After 11 pages of posts on that forum he posted a video in which he removed a head to "prove" that we did it on purpose. The VR Black Diamond HG are made to OEM standards but have black adhesive on them. His video showed that the HG that we put on his engine had BLUE adhesive. He apologized and all is well BUT....
I've spent three days dealing with this and I still have a lot of unanswered questions for Victor Reinz and Ford!!!!!
